We are faced with a multi-disciplinary case where veneers are required along with a full crown, which just happens to be on a darkened prep ! Then ‘shine through’ is our challenge.

Using Ivoclar’s ND (natural die/prep) shade guide you can accurately translate the patient's prep colour to the technician.

With this case we used Fusion Zirconia with an internal light blocked surface to make the single crown, labially reduced for hand layering with the same porcelain used on the veneers (E.max) to ensure continuity of shade, harmonising with the patients smile.
